2011

Hello lovelies, it's the end of another year. This year has been significantly more eventful for me than the last, so cheers to that.

1. Mark Ronson & The Business Intl.- You Gave Me Nothing
2. Arcade Fire- Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) (You have to watch this one, because Régine Chassagne is amazing. And Owen Pallett's playing too!!)
3. The Rosebuds- Get Up Get Out (Justin Vernon Remix)
4. My Morning Jacket- Touch Me I'm Going to Scream Pt. 2
5. Parov Stelar- The Mojo Radio Gang

This is a Gnarls Barkley appreciation post

The crowd. ♥ Festivals seem like such fun.

I watched this about ten times last night. And a few more this morning. The dancers are beautiful, love the way they move and the use of effects. Also, suspenders!!

Fly on, little wing

Time for some music that is of no interest to anyone reading this!

I was going to make a commentary for each song, but I started with Eric Johnson and there are no words for him, really.

Cut out all the ropes and let me fall,

Some things for anyone who might be seeing this:

Bon Iver playing
Skinny Love for a Take Away Show. It's so gorgeous and makes me happy in ways I can't describe. (You have to actually watch it, because half of why it's so good is because you can see how happy everyone is.)

Paradise Circus (Breakage's Tight Rope Remix)- Massive Attack
. I heard it while playing Tap Tap this afternoon, and it is damn good. And if you like your music a little less electronic, there is always the original.

Jónsi and Alex (I'm referring to them-as-people, not them-as-artists) strike me as adorable and they make me happy, but in a wistful why-can't-my-life-be-like-theirs sort of way. I know it's odd, but that's the closest I can get to describing it.

I'm a deep sea diver

Things that made me happy today:

Mistaken for Strangers- The National

Someone said in the comments 'This is a video of The National just being cool'. Yes!

It made me insanely happy this morning, you have no idea how hard I was grinning. See 0:45 when the chorus starts, I love that shot of Matt Berninger and the ceiling. The shadow! The tilt of his head! The angle of the camera! ♥ I would screenshot that if the video quality was better.

Grizzly Bear walking down the streets of Paris, singing Knife.

Ed!!!!!!!!!1 Hahaha he's so embarrassed, he keeps covering his head with the jacket. I love his voice and this song.

Zach Condon walks down the streets of Paris (possibly drunk), singing Knife.

Look they're having so much fun! They're totally fudging the lyrics! And Zach Condon is kind of really adorable. And has a great voice. I wish I could walk down the street and see something like this.

Nantes- Beirut

If people did things like this more often, the world would be a happier place.

Let yourself go

Everyone go watch this movie!

I'm not really into animated movies, but this one is brilliant. It makes you smile and snuggle into your jacket and want to fly so bad. And that song at the ending credits makes you want to burst at the seams with happiness. It's amazinggg (((: (Listen to the full version here.)

Also, I wore slippers to work yesterday.

Ten days more!!

I have to go to work later. ):

Padma and Hamsty, get yourselves excited!!

Hellooooooo, Kelly Jones.

Oh my god.

This is amazing.

Did I mention I love strings? And brass? So much. Orchestral version of just about anything will make me happy. 3.14 makes me want to cry.

And to quote one of the comments: cant stop listening to this when the full orchestra comes in at the end.....3.13 to be just mildly obsessed the hairs on my neck feel like ive put my fingers in a plug socket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another one:

P.S- Natalie misses me! Hee.

It was a slippery slippery slippery slope

New favourite album: Thom Yorke's The Eraser

Not-so-new favourite song: Slow Show by The National

I should learn how to put audio only... But the video's nice.

Love Matt Berninger's voice.

Edit: Also? I think Christopher Bear has to be one of the best names ever.

Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Part II

Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond.

I think of this as my dad's guitar music. It's got awesome guitar and sax solos.
I wasn't able to find a full version, Youtube has time limits. This song has nine parts, I think this shows parts I-V. On the album, it's 13mins, I think a bit of where he was singing got cut out.
Remember when you were young,
You shone like the sun
